We got to chat with the determined dancer all about her blossoming career and plans for the future.      ///by Katherine Leslie

Here are five things to know about Madison as you cheer her on this season of World of Dance!

SHE STARTED TO DANCE AS A TODDLER:  “I started dancing when I was two, so eleven years altogether. I just love it and I got into dance because we used to move around a lot when I was younger. My mom thought dance would be a good way for me to make new friends and always have a local place so I could have people easily so I wouldn’t feel like a loner.”

HER FAVORITE DANCE STYLE:  “As I got older, I started taking more classes and having a lot more variety. I really just love ballet and contemporary. I’ve realized that those are the two styles that I could really have a career in.”

THE MOMENT SHE KNEW: “When I was eight or nine, I had this teacher and she had a meeting with my parents. She told them that I could really have a future in dance and so I started having more private lessons. I became way more dedicated and started truly loving it. I really knew then that dance was what I want to do. I knew I didn’t want to be a veterinarian anymore or a chef or anything like that. I knew I wanted to be a dance for the rest of my life.”

WHAT SHE’S MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO ON WORLD OF DANCE (BESIDES WINNING!): “I am just really looking forward to kind of inspiring other people. I have been inspired by so many people and I feel like it is really awesome to be able to do that and be that person for others. It’s just a really awesome feeling.”

WHO INSPIRES HER: “I do want to be a principal ballet dancer at American Ballet Theatre. There are a couple of other principals that I really love, like Isabella Boylston and Stella Abrera. I just love watching them on YouTube and watching them perform doing all their variations. I just think it’s so beautiful and inspiring the way they all dance!”
