Knight Squad star, Lexi DiBenedetto has just wrapped up Season 1 of the hit show, and we can’t help but obsess over her! Lexi showcases her talent by playing her character Prudence on the show and will return soon for Season 2. The persistent young actress is making inspiring strides in her career and we are here for it! The North Carolina native filled us in on some behind the scenes of Knight Squad and her life off camera.

ON BEGGING HER WAY INTO AN ADULT ACTING CLASS AT AGE 8

“I found acting at a very young age, I started off in some local commercials and musical theatre. By the time I was 5, I was sure it was what I wanted to do. At age 8, I had begged my way into an adult acting class in my hometown. I began character break down, which I had started at a young age as well. I just didn’t get into the class till I was 8,  because I didn’t have many options. They didn’t want to let me in because I was a kid and it was an adult class but I was very persistent!”

SHE WAS ONCE AN ISLAND GIRL

“I’m from a populated island, Carolina Beach, but its small. It’s about 9 miles long and it’s off the coast of Wilmington NC. It was just a wonderful way to grow up. I was an active kid and so I would go just over the island and horseback ride. We weren’t allowed to have livestock on the island, which made me so sad because I had chickens and I had to board them in a barn across the bridge! But I did horseback riding and worked with animals. I would kayak and fish with my dad. We had a smaller boat and we would go tubing! I think those experiences of being outdoors, is something I’m really thankful for, especially as technology becomes more prominent in our lives. I’m thankful I had the background and outdoor experiences as a kid.”

ON DEALING WITH REJECTION

“Honestly, I’m a big fan of ice cream. I think it can be enjoyed in a cone, milkshake form, in a cup! Sometimes if I’m feeling fancy, I’ll dip a french fry in a chocolate shake, that usually helps! I think it’s important to give yourself a timeline. I give myself 3 to 5 days, depending on how busy my week is, on feeling sad about this project and being angry and upset. After that you have to just kind of suck it up, move on to the next one, and remember all of the great projects you have worked on.”

THE BEST THING A FAN HAS DONE FOR HER

“Just the daily support I get. Even on Instagram getting tagged in fan edits, it’s crazy that fans take time to do that for me! I saw one where a fan gave me pink hair and it made me want to dye my hair pink. But when they sit and take time to do that for me, it’s really sweet.”

HER FAVORITE MEMORY FROM KNIGHT SQUAD (YOU HAVEN’T SEEN IT YET!)

“There is a moment that hasn’t aired yet and it’s towards the end of the season. It’s a scene between Prudence and Ciara. It’s way more heartfelt and dramatic, then our usual storylines so I really enjoyed that.”

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM SEASON 2 (SHE KNOWS AS MUCH AS YOU!)

“I think people are going to be very excited! We don’t know much about Season 2 as actors, to be honest. They are keeping a lot of that a secret. It’s funny because really, the actors don’t know that much. Typically, we kind of get the script as they are written and as we work on them. Because I do know how Season 1 ends, I think that fans will be really excited with some of the new experience in Season 2!”
