Justine cover girl Lennon Stella and little sis Maisy are no strangers to performing tunes from other artists – their YouTube channel has over 60 million views! So to celebrate our February/March issue featuring the sisters we’re sharing our top five Lennon and Maisy covers!
5. “Kiss the Girl” – The Little Mermaid Soundtrack
We know we’re not the only ones who are total suckers for a Disney soundtrack! And Lennon and Maisy’s version of “Kiss the Girl” has us wishing for more covers of our movie faves.
4. “Ho Hey” – The Lumineers
After singing the hit from indie rockers The Lumineers on the first season of Nashville, Lennon and Maisy’s cover charted in the Top 40 on country radio.
3. “Call Your Girlfriend” – Robyn
This a capella cover of Robyn’s “Call Your Girlfriend” using plastic butter tubs as drums is what launched the girls into Internet stardom. To date, the video has over 25 million views on YouTube!
2. “That’s What’s Up” – Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros
We were fans of this Edward Sharpe tune at first listen, but Maisy’s killer harmonies really knock it out of the park! And the best part – the lyrics make it easy to sing along!
1. “Boom Clap” – Charli XCX
We did not think it was possible to love this song any more that we already do, but, boy, we were wrong! After listening to the sisters’ soul-sy, stripped-down version on repeat the original feels like it’s missing a little something… like the beautiful harmonies of Lennon and Maisy.
