They keep you company at night, make you laugh so hard your stomach hurts, and sometimes they’ll even bring you to tears. No, we’re not talking about your BFFs, though at times it may feel like you actually know them. We’re referring to the young actresses who enter your living room every night via the TV screen! Justine caught up with these leading ladies and we’re giving you a taste of the fun here!

Mary Mouser, 16
Plays: Lacey of ABC’s Body of Proof

Mary on Lacey
Lacey is a typical teen girl but she’s gone through a lot—her parents are divorced and the ups and downs of trusting her mom. She’s growing up and becoming a little of a rebellious teenager.

Your real-life diagnosis with diabetes inspired a storyline for your character; can you talk about that?
My own diagnosis was about three years ago. When I was first diagnosed, it came as quite a shock, as it did for my character. As I learned more about it, I realized I could continue on with my life and that’s really why I wanted to get the word out there. When I mentioned that to my producer, he thought it would be a great storyline. Within a few weeks, I was in the writers’ room telling them my story and my experience with diabetes. They really let me take this opportunity to teach people about it.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
I love to write. I loved Twilight so I wrote my own version of a vampire story! I’m also very into Dr. Who so I wrote a fan fiction story about that. I also love to sing; I’m always singing. My younger sister and I will make up songs in the car about things like being stuck in traffic!

Kaitlyn Dever, 15
Plays: Eve on ABC’s Last Man Standing

Are you anything like Eve in real life?
I’m probably a little more girly. I definitely dress a little more girly! But I do have a dry sense of humor and Eve’s always making smart comments to her sisters, which I’m always doing to my sisters in real life.

Was there a moment when you realized that you wanted to be an actress?
I was four years old, crying to my parents saying I wanted to go out to California!

What are some movies that you really love?
My all-time favorite movie is Walk the Line (I’m a huge fan of Johnny Cash). I loved The Help.

Eden Sher, 20
Plays: Sue on ABC’s The Middle

So, are you like Sue at all in real life?
Oh, absolutely. I’m overly enthusiastic about just about everything!

What actresses do you really look up to?
I’m all about those strong, female comedic leads. So I would say Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and Kristen Wiig are modern-day classics.

Where do you see yourself in the next three to five years?
I see myself at the top of Mount Kilimanjaro. I’m actually training for it right now. My goal is to do it this summer. But I don’t know, in three to five years hopefully I’m just loving life still. I’m going to take over the world at some point, so I’ll probably be on my way to world domination.
