Spring is in the air and we have some fun and colorful (not to mention, delicious!) spring treats to help you ring in the season. Whether it’s Easter, Mother’s Day or no particular occasion at all, you’ll have just as much fun preparing these sweet snacks as you will eating them!

Easter Festive Cake Balls

Ingredients:

1 (18.25 oz.) pkg. chocolate or vanilla cake mix
1 (16 oz.) container chocolate or vanilla frosting
1 (3 oz.) bar chocolate-flavored confectioners coating
Multi-colored sprinkles

Directions:

Prepare and bake cake mix as directed on box.
While cake is still warm, crumble apart. Once cake is completely cool, stir in container of frosting until well blended. Place mixture in refrigerator.
Melt confectioners chocolate coating in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until fully melted.
Use a melon ball scooper or your hands to create balls out of the cake mix/frosting mixture. Stick a toothpick through each cake ball and dip in the confectioner’s chocolate until fully coated.
Pour sprinkles in a bowl and roll coated cake ball until covered in sprinkles.
Set each cake ball on wax-paper coated pan and cool in refrigerator.

Easter Chick Cupcakes

Ingredients:

Freshly baked batch of cupcakes
Yellow frosting
Yellow sanding sugar
Yellow, orange and white squeeze tubes of icing
Mini chocolate chips

Directions:

Prepare and bake cupcakes according to directions on cake mix box.
Once cupcakes cool, spread a thick coat of yellow frosting on top.
Put the yellow sanding sugar in a bowl. Hold cupcake upside down and dab into sugar until covered.
Press two mini chocolate chips into the cupcake for eyes of the chick.
Draw a wing on each side of the cupcake using the yellow squeeze tube of icing.
Using the orange squeeze tube, create a beak and feet.
Using the white squeeze tube, create a small dot on each of the chocolate chip eyes.

Cereal Treat Easter Eggs

Ingredients:

1/4 cup butter
1 10 oz. bag marshmallows
5 cups cereal (we recommend Fruity Pebbles or Rice Crispies w/ some food coloring!)
1-2 plastic eggs (vertical split rather than horizontal will make things easier!)

Directions:

Melt butter in a saucepan on medium heat.
Once butter is melted, add marshallows and stir until melted.
Add cereal and stir into mixture.
Grease the eggs.
Stuff cereal mixture into both halves of the egg to mold the mix. Take out after a few seconds and let harden!
