A year ago, the world was left a little less fabulous when pop legend Prince passed away. Noah Guthrie, former Glee cast member (remember the lovable Robert Meeks with his giant headphones?) and popular YouTuber was particularly struck by the tragedy, as Prince had always served as an inspiration to him. He decided to honor his hero by covering one of Prince’s most iconic songs, “I Would Die 4 U,” but putting a twist on the upbeat pop anthem by turning it into a soulful, jazzy melody.

“I’ve always wanted to do a Prince cover, and I always knew it would be this song. I’m not sure why, but this song has always spoken to me in a very special way,” Noah says of his choice.

Ever since he first appeared on Glee and released a rendition of LMFAO’s “Sexy and I Know It” we’ve been huge Noah Guthrie fans. Thinking about him crooning to Prince’s top-selling hit gives us chills (in a good way)! Take a listen in the lyric video below!
