Have you ever had to make a tough decision? Should I wear sneakers or sandals to school? Bring a sweater or a jacket? Eat a donut or a cronut? How about deciding whether to be the star of a Broadway musical or be Zendaya’s costar on a hit Disney Channel show? That was the exact decision that K.C. Undercover star Veronica Dunne (aka Marisa) had to make! We got a chance to sit down with the star on set and hear how it all went down.

“I started doing musical theater from the time I was really young. I love the feeling of being on stage, I love singing, I love the feeling that you can act and sing a song, and dance as well—I think the combo of things is just magical. I was going to go to Carnegie Mellon for musical theater but I decided to defer for a year and stay here [in L.A.]. That’s when I auditioned for this show [K.C. Undercover], and I also ended up auditioning for Mamma Mia! on Broadway. And actually the day I tested for this show, I found out I booked Sophie, the lead in Mamma Mia! on Broadway! So I had to choose, which is literally the hardest decision of my entire life! When it rains it pours!”

That statement has never been so true. We hoped that hanging out with Veronica would cause some of her talent and hilarity to rub off on us, but when we realized that wasn’t happening, we settled for just chatting about it!

“For me it came from growing up watching shows like I Love Lucy— I used to be obsessed with that show! I would stay home and pretend I was sick just so I could watch re-runs. Also my Dad is absolutely hilarious so I learned a lot from him. Just observe! There are so many funny people out there: Kristen Wiig, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler. There are amazing women comedians that are just taking over the world right now!”

For now, Veronica’s dreams also include having the hilarious Lisa Kudrow guest star as her mom on K.C. Undercover and to sing “Mamma Mia” in or around Greece. We can’t wait to see what else gets added to that list and watching her check it all off! Surely her beautiful smile, warm personality and vast talents will help her succeed in any direction. And luckily for us, we can get our laughs every week watching her on K.C. Undercover Sundays at 8:30 EST on Disney Channel.
