There is nothing we get more stoked for than an unstoppable girl with big dreams, especially if she’s paving the way in a traditionally male-dominated field! Chloe Jane, (DJ, YouTuber, singer, songwriter, all-around super hero, need we go on?) took a minute to chat with us about what it’s like to be up at the DJ booth at a club, and who she’s inspired by! We’re inspired by you, Chloe Jane!

Justine Magazine: Being a female DJ is not something you see every day. What is it like to be a girl in a male-dominated field?

Chloe Jane: It’s great because it sets me apart from the other DJs and also I am a singer so I incorporate singing into my sets. I love to perform and I love to interact [with people] through music and watch them enjoy themselves.

JM: What are some of the pressures you face being so successful at such a young age, and how do you cope with them?

CJ: I definitely have the pressure of going to school every day, studying and doing my homework in addition to taking my various music and DJ lessons. I stay focused, try to manage my time well and feel one day this will all be worth it as I hope to achieve all my goals and dreams. I hope people will enjoy my songs and listen to them for years to come and I hope those songs will have great melodies that get stuck in people’s heads!

JM: If you won a big award tomorrow, who would you thank in your acceptance speech?

CJ: My family! My mother, my father and my aunt who all support me and work with me on a daily basis.

JM: If you could collaborate with another artist, who would it be and why?

CJ: Martin Garrix, Ariana Grande or Justin Bieber because they are my favorite artists and I admire their work. It would be like working with one of your idols!

JM: What is the main message of your song “Superstar?”

CJ: “Superstar” is about the fact that you are able to have fun with your friends while at the same time you are working hard to achieve your dreams.

JM: What has been your on-repeat anthem lately?

CJ: “Sorry not Sorry” by Demi Lovato.

JM: You have a lot of beauty videos on your YouTube, what’s your go-to makeup look and what’s the one beauty product you couldn’t live without?

CJ: My go-to makeup look is a warm bronzed eye with big lashes and highlighter! My favorite beauty product I can’t live without is concealer because it makes anyone look awake and refreshed. If I were to pursue a different career, I’d be a daily vlogger on YouTube that vlogs their life with fun and creative content!
