Have we mentioned that it’s our favorite time of the year yet? Holiday parties are in full swing this weekend, and we wanted to make ours the best yet. Who better to get party advice from than some of our favorite Nickelodeon stars? Find out from Kira Kosarin, Brec Bassinger, Haley Tju, Lilimar Hernandez, Jade Pettyjohn and others what music to blast, games to play and recipes to make. And don’t forget to check out some of their favorite recipes below!
Kira’s Baked Brie
– 1 (8 oz.) wheel Brie cheese
– 3 Tablespoons jam or jelly
– 1/2 (17.5 oz.) package frozen puff pastry, thawed
– Optional: 1 egg white
Preheat oven to 350˚ (175˚ C) and lightly grease a cookie sheet. Cut the brie wheel into 2 layers. Spread the jam or jelly between the two layers and put them back together. This should look like a brie/jelly sandwich. Wrap the entire wheel of brie with one sheet of pastry dough. Place the wrapped brie on a cookie sheet with the seam of the dough on the bottom. To make it extra fancy, brush the top of the pastry dough with egg white. Put it in the oven for 30 minutes until the pastry is golden brown and voila! Enjoy right away!
Haley’s Cereal Marshmallow Bars
– 3 Tablespoons butter
– 1 bag mini marshmallows
– 6 cups cereal of your choice (ideas: Fruity Pebbles, corn flakes, Cherrios, Trix, Lucky Charms or mix them up!)
– cooking spray
Coat a 9 x 13-inch casserole dish with cooking spray. Melt the butter in a saucepan or in the microwave. After it’s melted, add the marshmallows and stir until the marshmallows turn into ooey, gooey deliciousness. Stir in cereal and quickly pour the mixture into the baking dish before the butter and marshmallows harden. You can use wax paper to press down the mixture to make it flat. Then let it sit for 2 or 3 hours until it’s cool! Cut it up and enjoy!
Want to switch it up for an editor favorite? Use 2 Tablespoons of butter and 1/2 cup of peanut butter with 1 bag of mini marshmallows and 6 cups of Cocoa Pebbles! Melt the butter and peanut butter, stir in the marshmallows, then the cereal. Put it in the sprayed casserole dish, let it cool and then pour yourself a glass of milk!
